According to the article, “This simple wearable does only one thing: it warns caregivers when a person with dementia wanders out of a designated safe zone.”

An August 30, 2016 Motherboard article underscored the need to better understand the brain. According to the article, “A firm understanding of the inner workings of the brain continues to elude us. The implications of arriving at that understanding are unimaginable. Perhaps Alzheimer’s Disease could provide the urgency, the direction and the money to propel us not only to its cure, but also to a better brain for humankind.”

An August 30, 2016 Philly.com article examined the possible link between fallout from 9/11 and early dementia. According to the article, “Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) experienced by many rescuers and other first responders now appears linked to mental decline and dementia, the study authors found…About one-fifth of the World Trade Center responders developed PTSD, according to background notes with the study.”
